Need to know what junkyard gas tank will fit '48 ford cdan?
Don't really want to pay $250 for a new one. Thanks for
any help.

You are better off biting the bullet and getting a new one that will fit correctly. One from a junkyard can be more trouble than they are worth given you have to clean them, slush them, and hope they do not have any rust problems that compromise the integrity of the tank. When it comes to fuel, don't take any chances.

I have to agree...old tanks can have a lot of gunk,rust and hassles with them. If not a big tank maybe a boat tank?!?

Take your measurements to your local BoatUS Marine store...Tell 'em ya want a poly tank (and straps & sender if need be). They'll let ya flip through the catalog (ya might even be able to skip that step and browse the online cat. from home at www.boatus.com ) and look for something that'll fit. Once ya pick your poison they'll order it (or you can Online) and have it at the store ready to pick up or right to your door, UPS, in a couple days.
