Getting ready for the winter building season!! Was wondering if a s-10 suspension is suitable to go under my 38 chevy ? Going to be 2x4 rails but not decided on the suspension. Got a complete s 10 frame and suspension for free so i could copy the geometry onto the rails.Has anyone seen this or used this set-up?

I used the whole frame and suspention under my Stude, but you have to remember,,,,the complete floor and trunk has to be fabricated. The wheel base on an ext S10 is 122 inches. I shortened mine 2 inches so it would fit the Stude right. A lot of work, but it rides nice for me and I like the stenghth. Dave

I just finished adapting a S 10 frame to a 48/53 Chevy truck. Everything went as planned but the S 10 frame is narrow at the front and this causes some problems with radiator clearance in the area of the steering box. In my case it required a shorter than normal radiator. I made a jig of the original frame locating all the cab, bed, bumper...mounts and use this to place everything on the S 10 frame after I shortened the S 10. The S 10 is easy to shorten as you grind away a factory weld where the front and back halves go together, remove the amount you need and then slip the back together and reweld.
