I have a 350 chev engine that I bought for my 36. It has an engine number of V0605TJY. I know the V is for Flint and the 0605 are for June 5th (my birthday) and the T is for truck but what is the JY for? How do I tell what year the engine is from? Thanks.

Randy, you have helped many people in the past with "your book."
Would you mind sharing the title and publisher of the "book?" .....Me thinks I'd like to get me one!

A friend of mine owned a salvage yard and I use to get a bunch of professional ID books and such when he bought new ones.
Hollander is the main book I use the most. I have 4 or 5 of them to cover from the late 40's to the late 70's.
There is a very good " Chevrolet small block V8 ID Guide " book (that is it's name). It is published by MBI Publishing Company. I bought it at Barnes and Nobles........a large book store chain. That is where I got the Chevrolet information I posted in the previous post about TJY .
Enclosed is a photo of a Hollander.........you can find the older ones on EBAY. The 32nd edition covers from 1955 to 1966.

Thanks, Randy! ......I've seen the Hollander manuals at swap meets, but they were asking BIG bucks for the ones I've seen. Probably worth it for some, but I couldn't justify the price, for my needs.
Thanks for the other title. I'll check that out as well.
