Gas tank etc.

Now that we have the engine and trans out of the '54 Chevy we want to store it in the garage for a few weeks until we decide on the next step. The gas tank has a little gas in it and the fuel line to the engine is now exposed. Is it ok put a small piece of fuel line with a screw in it to keep the vapors from filling our home? Thanks, Alan

That should work. I would use a couple of hose clamps to make sure it is secure and keep it away from anything that could ignite an vapors venting through the cap or vent line. You could also just pour the gas into a container and use it in your lawn mower.
