Australian Dodge(Sloper)...RIP..."Rod-storation In Progress" with POLY 318 combined 727A push button transmission from 1965 Dodge Phoenix(similar to Dart)and from US 64 Valiant dash shifter....MOPAR everything except independent front end.HOLDEN.luv them 2.This two door seats five,rear seat folds down as standard to access boot for long loads, now it's a pickup.CHRYSLER AUST sure were smart,why make coupes, sedans and deliveries when the market would not sustain it,go for a all in one model like SLOPERS,and add trunkback for room.Rear taillights from 37/38 Plymouth for a touch of class we were not offered.
This started out fully rusted out, bashed around the bush by owners teenage kids,ie 25 years ago and left to cure in Aussie outback sun.Cracked chassis inc...
PAINT,well I am leaning towards..1970 HEMI ORANGE..with red pearl over that if possible.Weiand alum 4bbl plus 600 Holley and dual fuel.Orig gauges restored already,motor slight overbore and better cam so it's low budget fun,rodding at best.
24-4-2006 UPDATE PROJECT
Now to rolling chassis,panel work completed by Len(father) and Rod runnibg gear installed and aligned by me,if its crook ,my fault.......SINGLE MAN seperated after 18yrs now have project to do in ernest.Shortened the original steering column to fire wall and assembled with concotion of misellanous uni joint from wreckers.....
Power steering set up and springs cut to lower,rear diff springs reset and shortened....
No real changes cosmetically as looks very rat to me and I like it.email fiery318@yahoo.com.au if you know me and like the car.(or your an old girlfriend)
